Now that I have finished all the Fourteen Flames of the Valyrian Pantheon, I decided to do a family tree. Due to the incest, it’s a bit confusing lmao
A little summary:
Terrax (the known world, “Earth”): is the antithesis of Chaos and her creation was set up by Fate. She is the Mother of all Creation, the light that came out of the darkness, the organization of the world from the chaos of cosmos. She is soil and earth and creates Arrax as her companion and they have six children together.
Arrax (Urano): The known world’s sky. Essentially the atmosphere that separates Terrax and the world she built from cosmos (the reign of chaos). Arrax is the first son of Terrax, and becomes her companion, husband and the father of her six children. He betrays her by trying to destroy all her creation and is slain and banished by his children with her aid. In many legends, he fathered Meleys with his daughter, Syrax.
Meraxes (Jupiter): the youngest of Terrax and Arrax’s children. She leads the war against Arrax and later banishes Terrax. The Queen of all the Gods, she becomes the Goddess of the Sky, giving the seas to her brother Caraxes and the underworld to her brother Balerion. Her sister Syrax becomes the new Goddess of earthly life and Vermithor forges the volcanoes. She marries her sister Shrykos, Goddess of marriage and family. She has many kids. Vhagar and Tyraxes with Shrykos, her wife. Vermax, by herself. Perzys and Tessarion with Vermithor. And in some legends, Meleys with Syrax.
Shrykos (Light of creation): Queen consort of all Gods, married to her sister, Meraxes. Mother of Vhagar and Tyraxes.
Caraxes (Neptune): King of the Sea, married to Perzys, God of Fire.
Perzys (Sun): Caraxes’ queen, and twin to Tessarion, the Sun to her Moon.
Tessarion (Moon): Twin to Perzys. Created by Vermithor and Meraxes, the twins meant to became fire and light in the sky.
Vermithor (the chain of Fourteen Volcanoes): the creator for the Gods, made the moon and the sun with Meraxes, and the fourteen volcanoes in the peninsula to represent all Fourteen. He was the one who started the cataclysmic events of the Doom.
Balerion (Pluto): King of the Underworld, married to his niece Meleys, the Goddess of Love and fertility.
Meleys (Venus): Balerion’s queen, daughter of Syrax with either Meraxes or Arrax. Is coveted by Vhagar, who fell in love with her (one-sided).
Syrax (Vegetation): Took over her mother, Terrax, as Goddess of Vegetation and Earthly life, and has a daughter, Meleys, whose paternity varies between legends.
Vhagar (Mars): daughter of Shrykos and Meraxes, lusts after Meleys.
Tyraxes (Chaos//Cosmus//Fate): son of Shrykos and Meraxes.
Vermax (Mercury): son of Meraxes, turns himself into a dragon to travel between worlds.

Marq's Guide to [ttad's] Valyrian Fourteen
DISCLAIMER START
This depiction of the Fourteen Flames of Valyria has been tailored exclusively for my fanfiction, the thing about dragons, and it represents them as they appear in that story as characters with speaking roles. It is by no mean a canonical or a mainstream version of them.
This is a work of fiction. The clothing of the characters is vaguely inspired by a wide array of traditional fashions of East Asia Continent, but it is not them, nor meant to represent them. Creative liberties have been taken, and inaccuracies and embellishments will follow. I’m no expert, no historical reconstructor, just a person with a tablet and an idea; I saw pretty things and became inspired by them, and that is as far as it goes.
Additionally; these are fictional lizard people. They're not even mammals, and they're in no way supposed to represent any human ethnic group.
A Song of Ice and Fire and all associated published works, including the concept of the Valyrian Pantheon, belong to GRRM.
The concept of the appearances of the Valyrian Pantheon showcased below belongs to me. Nobody but me is allowed to use it without permission.
Contains spoilers for the thing about dragons and its worldbuilding.
(You may ask for permission to use my version of them if it compels you.)
(You may not use or repost my art without explicit permission.)
DISCLAIMER END
[a little legend, full arts, and domains under the cut]
They Of Many Names
The Fourteen Blasphemers
Devourers of Divinity
Ancient Relics of a Bygone Era
Once upon a time, long long ago when the lands were one and mountains were seas and seas were mountains, there lived a race of people under the protective purview of their serpent-god so massive and unfathomable it could wrap twice around the world and bite its own tail. The people were wise and prosperous in their cities of shining black stone, commanding magic and science with equal skill in equal measure.
And then a star fell, and shattered killing their serpent-god and its divine body fell from the sky onto the cities of the black stone along the shattered star. The catastrophic impact killed millions; the aftermath killed more as the sun was blacked out by the smoke and ash and the vegetation and animals and people began their great dying.
And then the star awoke, shattered but alive and wicked and incomprehensible, and its only goal was to consume all semblance of life.
The people, desperate and dying and acutely aware of the impending totality of their doom, turned to the gravest heresy, the foulest blasphemy in one last bid of survival; they imbibed the fallen flesh of their serpent-god, took what power festered in its divine corpse.
It changed them.
Most who committed this sin died; few lived, and soon they were the very last of their kind. Dozens, of what was once billions, extinct in a blink.
And they fought that star that fell, shattered by their serpent-god into a thousand-and-one shards, and made mortal with it. And they fell, but so did it, until only the mightiest on each side were left. And the shattered star, that wicked, hungry interloper--it ran. And it burrowed deep, deep into the ground, underneath the mountains and seas where none could reach. And there it slumbered, awaiting its chance to once more wake and mindlessly devour.
There were fourteen of them left, those sinners. Battered and lost and all alone, their species extinct, their god dead, their world gone. And they, too, slumbered and recovered for years and centuries and millennia and eons; and the continents shifted, and land recovered, and new life grew like the mountains around them, and the world they knew was truly forever gone.
And in time they were found, by accident or providence, and the sinners became gods, their past ignored and forgotten in favour of worship of their heretical power.
None remember the scalefolk anymore. Gone is their wisdom and the world could never recover its magic enough to match their mundane use of it. Their black cities lost under mountains and in the darkest crevices of the world, the great lizards they tamed and commanded gone with them.
There’s a new people now. They inherited this planet bereft of it’s protector serpent-god and most its magic, and all of its impending doom. But they’re hardy, determined folk, and the ancient relics of a long-forgotten sin never quite left. They lay in wait, dormant yet aware, gathering power for the one final hunt.
And then they, too, will go, for even gods die. For the sake of these new people and their future, marred by the catastrophe of the past who grew bereft of divine protection, orphaned in the vastness of space, yet hardy enough to rekindle the magicks most ancient and make them their own.
Balerion
God of Death
Also: Souls, Afterlife, Decay, Funerary Rites
Younger brother of Vhagar, older brother of Morghul, godson of Meleys. A somber yet gentle heart hides under his corpselike visage, for he is Death; foe to some, friend to others, yet inevitable to all.
Vhagar
Goddess of War
Also: Violence, Conquest, Tactics, Peace, Martial Arts
Older sister of Balerion and Morghul, goddaughter of Meleys, wife of Vermithor. The mightiest of gods, unyielding and stubborn, slow to anger and wise in the face of it.
Morghul
God of Darkness
Also: Shadows, Secrecy, Eclipse, Politics, Assassins
Younger brother to Vhagar and Balerion, he who treads in shadows and trades in whispers. Forever content to remain overlooked as he continues trading in secrets and conspiracies.
Meleys
Goddess of Blood
Also: Childbirth, Pregnancy, Motherhood, Life, Magic
Godmother of Vhagar, Balerion, and Morghul, the queen of the gods; the witch of blood, the mother of all. It's easy to forget the visceral horror of her power in the face of her nurturing kindness.
Vermithor
God of Prosperity
Also: Earth, Precious Gems and Metals, Commerce, Trade, Eloquence
Husband of Vhagar, lover of luxuries, trader of goods. With a silver tongue and a golden touch he is said to bring prosperity to anyone he bestows the tiniest morsel of attention on.
Vermax
God of Justice
Also: Law, Order, Wisdom, Oaths
Both fluid and inflexible, they are a god of contradictions. Of justice without law and wisdom without oaths; for they understand the order of things, that one may make the other, but never in reverse.
Arrax
God of Knowledge
Also: Medicine, Diseases, Poisons, Learning
The Pale Serpent bereft of the crown of horns of his kin, the last true scion of the serpent-god. He before whom no illness nor poison may retain its mystical secrecy.
Tyraxes
Goddess of Flowers
Also: Spring, Nature, Growth, Rebirth, Chaos, Visions, Madness
The willing sacrifice, imbibing a piece of the Waytree and paying with her very mind for a chance of tomorrow; and though the fairest flower became corrupted, her wish was nonetheless granted.
Tessarion
God of the Sky
Also: Art, Music, Wind, Birds, Freedom, Revolution
A creature of freedom of beauty, both flighty and incredibly steadfast in their convictions. A lover of all beauty, intolerant of oppression, an inspiring force for the deepest of desires.
Shrykos
God of Journeys
Also: Doors, Keys, Travels, Adventures, Transitions, Change
Change is necessary, stagnation, no matter how comfortable, brings doom. And they are willing to take any risk necessary to push the causality ever so slightly off its trajectory in hope of something better.
Meraxes
Goddess of the Moon
Also: Tides, Seafoam, Fish Migrations
Older twin sister of Caraxes, wife of Syrax. The calm before the storm and the pragmatic face of the moon and sea both, who leads sailors forward with calm seas and the grace of her cold light.
Caraxes
God of the Sea
Also: Salt, Reefs, Seastorms, Sealife
Younger twin brother of Meraxes, the storm after the calm, the violent unpredictability of the sea and its unbridled beauty. One thing is known; he shall not suffer any who'd limit him.
Syrax
Goddess of the Sun
Also: Rituals, Festivities, Celebrations, Alcohol, Daytime
Wife of Meraxes. The warmth of the sun, the safety of the daylight, the joy of celebration, yet she is who brings the warning, and the holy reverence of all rites and bonds forged in flame.
Gaelithox
God of Fire
Also: Heat, Volcanoes, Metallurgy, Forging, Smithing, Glass
The second mightiest of all gods; the dragonmaker who found a way to bestow the most ancient magicks of living fire and blood unto mortals by forging flesh and magic into living shape that became known as dragons.
Which one do you like the most? If you have any questions/thoughts don't hesitate to share them.
(I'll post it on other platforms soon enough)

The Deal of Gods and Humans
Prince Laenor of House Velaryon sat in a plush velvet chair within his wife's small study, sipping sour Arbor Gold from a golden chalice in silence as he watched Crown Princess Rhaenyra of House Targaryen stare out the window of her study. The light highlighted the features of her youth, reminding him of the heavy burden that had been placed upon his shoulders and was now shared between them. She was a little girl, still, with the weight of a Kingdom upon her shoulders and yet she stood with the strength of a dragon against the lit towers aiming to bring her crashing down.
"I'm sorry," Laenor murmured, tearing his wife from her thoughts. "If only the Gods had not made like this. If only they had made me like my father or Prince Daemon then maybe–"
"Stay your tongue!" Rhaenyra ordered, sharply. She whirled around, pale grey skirts swirling along her legs as she stalked towards him. "Had the Gods not made you this way then I would never have agreed to this marriage, no matter that my inheritance would be stripped away. I agreed to take you as my husband because I can trust you within this nest of vipers my home has become. You are my husband and my future King Consort, the man who shall aid my rule and support me."
Laenor gave a bitter, self-deprecating laugh, "I am the husband that cannot give his wife heirs. The man that cannot see a woman for the beauty she is, and feels no lust for the pleasures others speak of."
"We shall figure something out. It will just take time."
"What if you took a paramour? He could give you children that I could claim as mine. They would be mine in name and that is all that matters."
"And if they resembled any but me? Or you? They would be called bastards even if they were an exact copy of Rodrick Arryn or Jocelyn Baratheon as long as they did not have the Valyrian coloring. The Queen and her supporters would make our lives a living hell if she even had an inkling that they were bastards. Even now, she seeks to undermine me."
"I thought the wedding was her only move," Laenor stated, sitting up. Worry shone in his grey-purple eyes. They might not be in love as other matches were but they were partners.
"No. Every day she gathers the Ladies of the Keep for tea and speaks behind my back, spreading rumors of my virtue, of your taste in men, of how I am a heathen whore unfit to be the Heir to the Iron Throne," Rhaenyra sneered, sitting down in the weirwood chair behind her desk. A present from Lady Jeyne Arryn and Lady Amanda Arryn for her wedding.
"She dares speak ill of the Crown Princess? And none stop her or bring her words to the King or you, yourself?"
"Why would they? Each of them come from the Reach or Westerlands, supporters of her son as Heir and future King."
"Then we must dispel the rumors," Laenor stated, reaching into his doublet. He pulled out a letter, setting it on the desk between them. "My dear Laena has sent us a letter. She reminds me of the tales my father used to tell us before bed. Of Sea Serpents, Giants, Gods . . . and Demigods."
"Demigods?" Rhaenyra whispered, remembering the tales Daemon had once told her. "Children of both God and Man. What do those tales have to do with our problems?"
"For years we have hid how we worship the Fourteen Flames, let those of the Seven deem our culture as heathenistic and disrespectful. I believe she means for us to seek out our true Gods and ask for their help."
"They are Gods, Laenor. What could we possibly give them in return for three children?"
"Anything they wish. Rhaenyra if you wish to be Queen this might be our only option. We need trueborn heirs and who better than the Gods that shaped us and gave us dragons?"
"The same Gods who allowed hundreds of thousands of people be wiped by the Doom. The ones who allow us to be ridiculed and shamed even as Kings, Queens, and Heirs of Valyrian Houses. The only ones left of Old Valyria, might I add," Rhaenyra snapped, glaring.
Laenor did not let her flames deter him. "And what other option do we have? Let Prince Aegon be named Heir because you have no children to rule after you?"
Rhaenyra snarled, teeth baring as Syrax sang within her soul, black teeth bared as flamed gathered in her chest. "Watch yourself husband. I could take that as treason."
"But I speak the truth," Laenor stated, Seasmoke humming in the back of his mind, tail swishing across the dusty ground of his cave. "You said we would need trueborn children and I have given you a suggestion. It is either this, your give birth to bastards after taking a paranour, or remain childless and have your titles taken. Take your pick, wife."
Charged silence fell within the study as the two dragons stared each other down. Eventually, Rhaenyra acquiesced.
"Fine. In two days time we travel to Dragonstone. We will call it a honeymoon of sorts, as if we seek alone time for . . . things. The Temple of the Fourteen will hear our prayers and we shall see if the Gods will answer."
"Then it is decided."
—Temple of the Fourteen—
The Temple of the Fourteen was almost hidden behind Castle Dragonstone, even with how large it was. The rotunda had 14 stained glass windows, each displaying the symbol of one of the 14 Gods or Godesses sitting above the corrosponding statue. Made entirely out of black dragonglass with runes carved in and filled with Valyrian steel, the Temple was truly of Valyrian make and ancestry.
Over the two days planning their week long trip to the Isle of Dragonstone, they had argued over which statue to pray too, eventually agreeing upon the Goddess Meleys. She ruled over fertility, love, sexuality, mothers, and childbirth, so they had come to the realization that she would be a better fit than Arrax or Aegerax.
"It's beautiful," Laenor murmured, High Valyrian rolling of his tongue with an Essosi lilt that Lord Corlys and his sister both had. It brought a heat to Rhaenyra whenever she heard it even if she preffered how it sounded when Daemon spoke.
"It is." Rhaenyra and Laenor came to a stop before the white dragonglass statue of Meleys. Stood in a patch of dirt, a large myrtle tree had grown alongside her, manipulated to lean over her seemingly sheltering the Goddess who wore a floor length dress with long slits up the side leaving her most of her legs and bare feet exposed.
Held in her left hand was a mirror, as pearls draped across the exposed cut of her shoulders while long sleeves fell around her forearms. Perched upon her shoulder was a dove while a peacock stood at her side, long beautifull feathers carved and painted in detail.
"Do you remember the prayer?" Laenor asked as they both stared up into the gentle features carved into the statue.
"I have not had the time to forget it," Rhaenyra murmured dryly, unsure of if she should speak normally. Together they kneeled, bowing before the Goddess' statue.
"O' Meleys, O' Queen of the Gods, Goddess of Love, Goddess of Fertility, Goddess of Motherhood, Goddess of Childbirth, we seek your aid. As Heir to the Iron Throne and Heir to Driftmark, we ask you to provide us with heirs and a spare. To allow us to further our bloodlines, O' Queen of the Gods. Name a price and we shall pay it for three children borne of our blood."
The pyre that stood to her right suddenly lit with pale pink-whire fire, startling both of them. So focused they were, neither saw the statue move until she spoke, voice soft but firm, loving and kind.
"Greetings, Princess Rhaenyra, Chosen Heir. Greetings, Prince Laenor, Chosen Guardian. I have been awaiting your call for many moons."
Neither could find it within themselves to speak, staring at the talking statue with awe and fear in equal parts.
"Be not afraid. Your call has been anticipated and awaited eagerly." Her soft look melted to something sharp and protective. "The Promised Heir shall come from your blood, Rhaenyra, but due to your father's folly, in one line of fate they fall and the world is taken in the Long Night. No one is left, no dragons, no people, no wildlings. Only wights. To make sure this never comes to pass We, the Fourteen Flames, the Seven-Who-Are-One, and the Elder Gods have decided to intervene. We have decided to interfere with fate itself to make sure our favored survive and fight back the Long Night."
"Us? But my father said– when he told me of the prophecy . . ."
"Tessarion gave the prophecy to Aegon in the hopes that he would unite Westeros to prepare them for the Long Night. But after making them kneel he in turn kneeled for the Seven-Who-Are-One who have no control over any family of Valyrian Blood. We are not the only the ones that have been disrespected or forgotten.
"The supposed followers of the Seven have perverted and twisted the words of the Seven-Who-Are-One to fit their agendas, destroying the faith that once was. The Elder Gods are slowly being forgotten as we are, and with fewer and fewer worshipping us, we are dying."
"Dying?" Laenor asked, horrified. Every story ever told spoke of how a God could not be killed.
"Not in the way you understand but yes. Magic is being forcibly taken from your world, one of the few weapons that would secure your future. But we believe we have a way for this world to survive. Do you accept the responsibility, Rhaenyra Targaryen, Laenor Velaryon?"
They both hesitated, but looking upon her face, one that looked similar to Aemma's in Rhaenyra's eyes and one that looked sinilar to Rhaenys' for Laenor and they made their decision.
"We accept this responsibility, My Queen."
She smiled softly.
"From us you will be given 14 children, born of each of us with our favor to save the Targaryen, Velaryon, Celtigar, and Stark lines. The Seven-Who-Are-One and the Elder Gods have decided that their gifts will be given in secret to aid you. But I have another gift to offer you." Meleys' smile grew wider. "Would you like to hear the names of your children and who they are the child of?"
"Yes! Please, My Queen," Rhaenyra added, blushing fiercly at the outburst. While afraid to have so many children, a part of her was curious to know her future.
"The First. Son of Arrax, King of the Gods, Jacaerys Targaryen."
"The Second. Daughter of Tyraxes, Goddess of Peace. Alyssa Velaryon."
"The Third. Son of Caraxes, God of the Seas. Lucerys Velaryon."
"The Fourth. Son of Vhagar, Goddess of War. Maegor Velaryon."
"The Fifth. Daughter of Vermax, God of Travel. Visenya Velaryon."
"The Sixth. Son of Aegerax, God of Creation. Aerion Velaryon."
"The Seventh. Daughter of Tessarion, Goddess of Dreams. Daenys Velaryon."
"The Eighth. Daughter of myself, Goddess of Love. Aemma Velaryon."
"The Ninth. Son of Syrax, Goddess of Chaos. Saeryn Velaryon."
"The Tenth. Daughter of Meraxes, Goddess of the Sky. Rhaella Velaryon."
"The Eleventh. Son of Gaelithox, God of the Sun. Aegon Velaryon."
"The Twelfth. Son of Vermithor, God of Smiths. Aemon Velaryon."
"The Thirteenth. Daughter of Shrykos, Goddess of Beginnings. Valaena Velaryon."
"The Fourteenth. Son of Balerion, God of the Underworld. Baelon Velaryon."
"Tonight Tessarion shall visit you to give you the instructions on how to allow us to give you children. Be ready. Good luck."
The statue straightened back into her precious position and fell still, allowing complete silence to fall within the Temple.
"Well," Laenor began, mumbling. "I believe we should head to the Keep, should we not? A drink or two might help."
"I agree." With that the two retreated back to the castle to talk about what had just happened, and drink enough wine to help settle their nerves before Tessarion came to visit.

To me personally, Rhaenyra's caring about religion made sense to me because she only seems to care about her own religion. For example, when she married Daemon in the Valyrian way or even small things like being invested in Valyria + her ancestors. She just seems to frown upon other religions cause she thinks hers is superior (at least that's how I read it) 🤷♀️
For me, the only religion the show showcased so far has been the seven, even one mention of another god does not instantly click cuz we’re talking about the other religion so often. If they did a scene of Viserys or Rhaenyra saying the Gods gave them their dragons (not calling the dragons themselves Gods) or that the Gods gave Aegon his dream that would be different!
And I totally agree she’s very connected to her ancestors but we don’t talk about their religion often that’s why it was confusing for me!
If you (or anyone else!) wants to discuss religion more I would love to! I actually study religion at college so it’s exciting to see other peoples perspectives! 💖

Maybe it was the heavy headache Rhaenys was having ever since that stupid night she spent awake watching the red comet crossing the sky. The headache was so bad she barely could get out of bed sometimes and made her a little dizzy and delirious. Made her dream of dead people she used to pray to forget.
She dreamed of her father and he didn’t visit her sleep in years. In the dream, he was singing her to sleep a song sang in High Valyrian about the love affair between the gods Morghul and Meraxes. It was supposed to a legendary love, the two of them living forever and loving each other more than anything. But Meraxes couldn’t handle the eternity of Morghul’s wars. She couldn’t handle love someone pleasured by death and pain. So she drowned herself in the Summer Sea in the attempt to finally die. Meraxes didn’t die, of course, she just got trapped for evermore underwater and whenever Morghul flight to battle he saw his lover’s face in agony.
What that dream meant, she didn’t know, but couldn’t be nothing good dream of her father after so long.

NAME ETYMOLOGIES, DAENERYS' WILL SHOCK YOU!!!
Hey Guys okay so i was being an insane nerd scrolling through DJP's Valyrian glyph lexicon and remember how Aegon comes from Aegion (iron)? I Have Found More. I'm not sure if it's me looking for patterns where there are none, but here are my guesses:
JAE-, as in JAEHAERYS and JAEHAERA
jaes, which variably means 'deity', 'god', 'goddess', 'gods' making it a theophoric religious name, or jaedos, meaning 'summer'
BAE-, as in BAELOR, BAELON, BAELA
baelagon, which variably means 'help' 'assist' and 'aid', or baes, which can mean 'top' or 'apex' or 'apex' or 'zenith'
RHAEN-, as in RHAENYRA, RHAENA, RHAENYS
rhaenagon, meaning something like 'meet' 'discover' 'seek' 'encounter' 'find' and 'know', and also 'begin' according to the high valyrian wiktionary
(I'm unsure if names like Rhaegar or Rhaella, without an N, still stem from this)
RAEL-
raelagon, meaning variously 'love' 'cherish' 'jealous' 'keep' 'maintain' 'revere' and 'pawn'
(This fits the name 'Rhaella' better, but begins with R- and not RH-)
NAE-, as in NAERYS, or a feature in names such as DAENAERA
naejos, meaning 'breast', 'chest', 'front, and 'pecs'
(a little funny, but does conjure feminine associations)
AEN-, as in AENYS
aeny/aena, meaning 'support' 'brace' and 'buttress'
(refrain from making any aenys/anus and buttress jokes)
VAE-, as in VAEGON
vaedar, meaning 'cash', 'silver' and 'coin'
LAE- as in LAENOR, LAENA
laes, meaning 'eye'
and finally DAE- as in DAERON, DAEMON, DAENA, DAENYS, AND DAENERYS
daez, meaning 'free' 'freedom' and 'liberty'
#yinnie#asoiaf#was SHAKING as i was searching. im sure theres more since this is just the glyphs but OH MY GOD!!!#ive sent an ask to DJP's tumblr but he hasnt answered yet!!!#daenerys targaryen#house targaryen#hotd#high valyrian

What Rhaegar Saw
From my blood come the prince that was promised, and his shall be the song of ice and fire. Born amidst salt and smoke beneath a bleeding star, he is the warrior that brings the light against the doom that gathers in the darkness. Three heads shall have the dragon that dances against the cold, for fire and blood must win the war for the dawn.
[My citations for how I created the wording of the Prince that was Promised prophecy is here, and the glyphs are all made by me.]
"As a young boy, the Prince of Dragonstone was bookish to a fault. He was reading so early that men said Queen Rhaella must have swallowed some books and a candle whilst he was in her womb. Rhaegar took no interest in the play of other children. The maesters were awed by his wits, but his father’s knights would jest sourly that Baelor the Blessed had been born again. Until one day Prince Rhaegar found something in his scrolls that changed him. No one knows what it might have been, only that the boy suddenly appeared early one morning in the yard as the knights were donning their steel. He walked up to Ser Willem Darry, the master-at-arms, and said, ‘I will require sword and armor. It seems I must be a warrior.”
Happy Harlaween @tyriongirl!!
#wish i had the calligraphy skills to match up to this project lol#i could probably give you the etymology of every single glyph in this scroll#valyrian scrolls#valyrian glyphs#harlaween#rhaegar targaryen#the scrolls is arranged into fourteen rows of seven glyphs each because in my headcanon it was arranged that way#by a dragonkeeper who became a maester and was obsessed with honoring the Seven and the valyrian gods

The idea where Arya comes along too, and has mismatched eyes - what do you wanna bet Viserys looks at this fierce girlwithmismat he'd eyes who can use a sword and ride like the wind and follows Jon around (last time he was gone from her sight he almost went through the door at Summerhall alone! She's never letting go!) and muses that she's like his and Daemon's mother, Alyssa.
(Also, Arya is asked what name she'd like and she answers Arya. They ask again and she says Nymeria, and Daemon sighs in defeat and let's her keep being Arya LOL.)
Also, I keep thinking about the burning thing that possessed Jephyro and I have a theory - it's R'hllor. Not a God, but some powerful demonic fire being, possibly created in Valyria?
I could also see Arya being cool with Visenya, who was a badass warrior dragon queen. And would make a very impassioned argument for getting Dark Sister over Jon and Rhaegar due to said name. 😂
Is your theory that R'hllor is not a god but something of Valyrian origin/creation? Or that some powerful/demonic fire entity from Valyria is masquerading as the actual god R'hllor?
#resonant asks#once again i am begging for a pantheon of valyrian gods pls grrm#LET ME REVERSE ENGINEER THEIR CULTURE! GIVE ME SOME SOURCES!
